One manager is now ‘eager’ to accept Liverpool’s offer for him to become the Reds’ next boss.
Jurgen Klopp’s dream of winning the quadruple in his final season with Liverpool was dashed last month. The Reds were defeated in the FA Cup by Manchester United last month, then were eliminated from the Europa League by Atalanta this week.
Liverpool’s attention will now turn to the English Premier League, but behind the scenes they are considering who will replace Klopp at the end of the season. The Reds have been linked with a slew of names over the past three months, and there is some good news about the release of one of them. What does Ruben Amorim want to do now that Liverpool have made a signing bid?
Ruben Amorim has been heavily linked with the Liverpool job for months.
The 39-year-old is expected to become a sought-after man this summer and his stock is set to soar as he is set to win his second Portuguese league title. Many reports suggest that Amorim is the favorite to become Liverpool’s next manager, but there has been no confirmation. However, it has been revealed that Liverpool have made a 3-year contract offer for the Portuguese coach.
TeamTalk has now backed up this claim and shared what it has learned from its sources about Amorim’s position going forward. The newspaper revealed that Amorim, who is considered the “ideal” replacement for Klopp (Nigel Reo-Coker on CBS), is “ready to accept” Liverpool’s offer. The Sporting Lisbon coach recently spoke about winning the Portuguese Premier League title,
and when asked if he wanted to lift the trophy or stay at the club after the end of the current season, he answered with interesting words.
“both of them. My son also asked me about both, but the important thing is that Sporting is the champion. “This is what the fans want and this is what we are fighting for.” Amorim’s son wants to stay at Sporting, which has Liverpool fans somewhat concerned, but there is still plenty of optimism about seeing the 39-year-old at Anfield this summer.
