Mohamed Salah has established himself as one of the best wingers in Premier League history
The Egyptian could score 200 goals in the English Championship before his Liverpool career is over, and he must now be considered one of the best players to ever play in this country.
Speaking on the BBC’s Top 10 Matches of the Day podcast, Gary Lineker, Micah Richards and Alan Shearer ranked the 10 best wingers in Premier League history, and Salah is certainly near the top of their list. Alan Shearer placed Salah in second place after Ryan Giggs, but Lineker disagreed with this opinion,
considering that the Liverpool star should have ranked higher than the Welsh player in such a list.
Mohamed Salah is better than Ryan Giggs
Lineker talks about £34m Liverpool player Giggs. “I should have chosen him over Ryan Giggs. Ryan Giggs is amazing, what a career. I played in one of Ryan Giggs’ first games and it was my last game in the English Championship and I thought ‘Who is this guy?’ Lineker said:
An exceptional career, there is not much difference between the two, but Salah’s scoring rate will be much better. Salah is truly amazing
Giggs is a great player in his own right, and his trophy speaks for itself, but on the individual level, Salah is on another level.
Salah has been a mainstay of a Liverpool side that has performed extremely well in recent years, while Giggs is one of many key players in Manchester United’s impressive squad. Honestly, Giggs won’t be able to do what Salah has done in recent years, but Salah likely played a key role in United’s squad in the 1990s and 2000s.
Giggs may have a bigger CV, but in terms of talent, Salah is on a different level to the Welsh legend.
