Rumour Mongering: Liverpool Target Second Fluminense Star

With links to André Trindade having faded, the rumour mongers have a new Fluminense player to link: centre half Nino.

Over the past six months or so, Liverpool have been regularly linked with Fluminense midfielder Andre, but after failing to sign the young midfielder in the summer, all credible signs point to a departure for the Red Devils.

However, for some in the land of rumours, this is an opportunity to link Liverpool with another player from Fluminense, with reports from Italy this week linking the Red Devils as rivals to Roma for the centre-forward. . Nino, Fluminense’s veteran captain, does not fit the usual picture of a player targeted by Brazil, but according to reports from Italy from Il Messaggero and Alfredo Pedulla, he could be heading to Europe in January.

Feyenoord and Fulham is a potential destination for Nino. From Liverpool’s point of view, we have our doubts. After all, manager Jurgen Klopp has never hidden his reluctance to sign short-term contracts in January, and has said he only wants new players if they are a long-term target. There may always be a possibility that Nino could be a long-term target, but we doubt he will be a temporary solution for Liverpool’s injury-plagued defence. However, with a release clause of just €7 million, anything is possible.
