You may have wondered what Harvey Elliott‘s celebration after his goal at Crystal Palace was all about, and Ibrahima Konate could shed a little light for us all
The 20-year-old scored his first legitimate goal of the season for Crystal Palace to seal another valuable win – and his passion for putting his team ahead was clear for all to see.
Elliott wasted no time and walked towards the away crowd after scoring in the 91st minute with a sliding knee followed by a hug from his teammates. But when the dust settled and it took its own space, it sparked another celebration in honor of the Japanese anime Dragon Ball Z.
Ibrahima Konate has reenacted the scene for us, demonstrating the Kamehameha move from the TV series that Elliott used as inspiration for his celebration
Kamehameha is the most commonly used ultimate attack in the anime series and is the signature style of Goku, one of the main characters.
They are formed when the hands are brought close together and focused on one point, as you see Elliott doing, and the hands are then thrust forward to emit a powerful beam of energy. There are many variations of the move and we certainly love Elliott’s move to Selhurst Park and of course Konate too
Liverpool’s No.5 is a huge fan of animation and has taken it upon himself to celebrate moves on the pitch, regularly posting moves from different series on social media following Liverpool’s victories.
There is a clear link between the two and we expect to see more over the course of the season from both Konate and Elliott – the former yet to open an account this season.
