Virgil van Dijk’s reaction after Liverpool star Joel Matip’s injury was confirmed

Joel Matip has been an excellent player for Liverpool over the years, but injuries always worry him, don’t they?
The Cameroonian international has been at Anfield since the summer of 2016. He played 201 matches for Liverpool in all competitions, but also missed 104 matches due to injury over the years.
This number is set to rise significantly in the coming months as Jurgen Klopp confirmed in the post-match press conference last night that Matip had suffered a tear in his anterior cruciate ligament. The Red Devils coach said, according to Liverpool’s official website: “It is a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament. Unfortunately, this is what I expected from the first second.” Everything happens like this. very sorry.”

Commenting on the news, Van Dijk said, according to Liverpoolfc.com: “Unfortunately we lost Joel Matip that day and we are all devastated.
This is also a sign; “World football has a very high number of injuries, and this is also something we have to take into account.”

Joel Matip is loved by everyone in and around Liverpool, and rightly so. The Cameroon international has been fantastic for them over the past seven and a half years and will be remembered for a long time.
Matip’s latest injury is a huge blow. This defender is 32 years old and is about to enter the final six months of his contract. Everyone expected him to leave at the end of this season, and it was more likely than before. It usually takes more than six months to recover from an anterior cruciate ligament injury, and Matip is now likely to be ruled out for the rest of this season. This means we may never see him in a Liverpool shirt again, which is a real shame.
